Nov. 12 - Trinity M. writes

Durning the night, the girls in my room were sleeping soundly...but we got a little too comfortable because we were almost late for breakfast. When we went downstairs we had a complimentary breakfast, which was slightly different from an American breakfast. There was rice, chicken, cabbage, Japanese sweet potatoes & even meatballs. I can't remember how much and what type of food was available.

Afterwards, we caught the bus to go to the Shin-Urayasu station.
The station was very nice. It reminded me of Grand Central. The train station was structured in a convenient way, which could be helpful for other countries. We caught our first train. We had to go through 6 stops to get to Tokyo. I noticed that many people slept and the straps are important. If you don't use the strap, you could possibly fall.

When we arrived in Tokyo, we had 2 hours to kill.  We stayed near a vending machine. Everyone tried cool Japanese drinks and some people even bought bean soup!

After about a half hour or so, we went to the Shinkansen boarding area. Keiko kindly offered to buy us bento boxes for lunch. It was really generous of her. We kept waiting and waiting for our train and when we got on, we realized we were in the wrong car. When sat down, in the correct seats, everyone ate their bento box. It was really delicious.  I was expecting the ride to be insanely fast. But the Shinkansen ride was 3 hours long.

The scenery was amazing! We saw rural areas, as well as small cities. My favorite sight was the Sea of Japan and the mountains. I also saw many sleeping students and Sean Sensei, who was sleeping along with everyone else.

It was a busy yet somewhat relaxing day and I can't wait for tomorrow!
